365 club.

I was worrying about having something to write for this blog, much as I have worried about having a photograph to post on my FlickR photostream; I then had the sudden realisation that I don't need to post something every day. For me, the need to be creative is fairly constant but I won't force myself to produce work for the sake of it.
It appears to have become a bit of a fad to be a member of the "365" club, in which you opt to take a photograph or write a blog entry every day; although I can see the merit in the discipline of such a regime, I am fearful that the need to produce some work every day can simply lead to mediocrity - the writing of words for the sake of it (even if you have nothing to say really) or the taking of a snapshot rather than the crafting of a photograph.
This is not to say that those people who choose to join the club all produce mediocre work because that is not the case, but I don't want to put unnecessary pressure upon my self just yet.
So, thanks, but no thanks. I don't feel ready to join the 365 club just yet.
